Naughty Boys Need Love Too

VIDEO GAME VILLAIN PAGE

Upon the request of a visitor, I have expanded my horizons to include Villains of the Interactive-Nature. That's video games, for you chowder-heads. However this whole section is going to have to be visitor-dependent seeing as the whole of my video gaming experience is comprised of my days as a child spent fiddling slack-jawed with the joystick of an Atari 2600, and that period 2 years ago when I owned a Nintendo 64... I still haven't figured out why I owned one... anyway, I spent that whole 10 month period playing nothing but Goldeneye and Mission Impossible until i went mad one afternoon and sold it to the first person who would offer me money.

So as you might guess I'm not a video game buff. Got any suggestions? I'm looking for Villains, bios, screengrabs if available, and if you can offer me all three of those at once I'll worship your calloused little thumbs forever.

Inky Blinky, Pinky, Clyde, and Sue, Pac-Man/Ms Pac-Man
Oh yes, I went there. Did you know there's a whole Pac-Man series of games? I was a mastermind at Super Pac-Man but I hated the Baby Pac-Man pinball-hybrid. Ms Pac-Man was a role model to feminist little girls everywhere. I mean, she kept the title of Ms but she still liked pink! Yay! Anyway, for those of you saying "but there were only 4 ghosts and you named 5! Wahhhh!" just take a deep breath. In Pac-Man the ghosts were Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Sue. In Ms Pac-Man the ghosts were Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde. So anyway I included them for being the first true video game Villains, and because they're the only frame of reference I've got.

Singe, Dragon's Lair

Oh yes, I went there too. Thanks goes out to Thanos6 for remembering this evil cutie's name. You might not be old enough to remember the original Dragon's Lair. It was originally released in something like 1983 and featured the animation of Don Bluth ("An American Tale" or "The Land Before Time" ring a bell?). The hero, who frankly we Villainites couldn't care less about, was named Dirk the Daring. The story goes something like this: the Dragon kidnapped Daphne, Dirk's only true love. Dirk had to fight his way through a choose-your-own-adventure style of well-storyboarded scenes to try to rescue her. Make a wrong move, Dirk was toast. And trust me, there were way more wrong moves than right ones. Eat your heart out, Mario and Luigi. Check out the site this pic links to and you can watch all of Dirk's various dying scenes. What fun!

Bowser, Super Mario Brothers (most versions)

Bwahahahahah!! And you though I was going to list great Final-Fantasy type Villains! Well I'm not saying I won't, I'm just really on this old-school kick right now. You may remember Bowser as the Boss in most of the Mario games. He was the one you had to hit like 12 times before he'd start flashing and blow up. Check out the page this gif is linked to, it's a great resource for all kinds of classic video games. Go sidescrollers!

The Snake (a.k.a. Coily), Q-Bert

#\\$%&@!!!!! Does no one remember the cute, bouncy little snork-predecessor? As Q-Bert, players had to jump around a blocky pyramid-type structure, avoiding this mean little slinky snake that spelled instant death. Cool thing about this game was that, like Pac-Man, the enemy actually tracked you as you moved, following you around and trying to trap you. I know it sounds like idiocy to even make a distinction about this factoid but back in those days it was a big deal! Just like all of the early video games, there wasn't much strategy, just a lot of hand-eye coordination and frustration.
